It included many Latinate neologismsas well as obsolete words already dropped from popular usage so completely that their meanings were no longer understood. The SeasonsThe Castle of Indolence was self-consciously modelled after the Miltonian dialect, with the same tone and sensibilities as Paradise Lost.
